Super Commando 440 1949 Willys 2WD pickup project strait body highway willys 1971 440 auto trans. dodge rear end . orig two wheel drive truck gioing to make it go down the road again . photos show the starting point chopped up frame with a 361 chry big block barely installed with the crossmember cut out was told dad drove it for years till the engine died . photos show a front frame redo with a 1971 440 going back in firewall reshape and repair the 440 is ready to go back in for good. nice cross flow aluim. radiator fitted in the old flat nose grill still room for the orig. chry. fan . fit the big block back in did have to relocate the oil filter . but now it has a crossmember back up front. Engine back in and almost ready to fire back up cleaned up the engine bay a bit and ran new brake lines as well as removing the clutch pedal wont need that with the 727 auto tranny it has in place now . Well ended up replacing the rear end with a dana 53 out of a 64 jeep gladiator so the wheels would match. Ended up with 4.09 posi. in the rear with just a little work also switched the tranny to a heavy duty auto out of a dodge motor home . Took it for its first flight today what power it has drives nice wish it stopped or at lest slowed down a little better fun ride though. lots of lose ends and a bit more interior work and its on the road for good again .will update. in progress now.

Willys warehouse can help with rust repair and panel replacement. This nice 1969 Super Wagoneer came in with what looked like just a small repair. Rusted through in a few small spots. Some rust bubbles showing here and there. Once opened up it needed floor, inner wheel well, dog leg, and quarter panel replaced. Owner was lucky to find a good used quarter panel to piece it back together and clean up all the rusted areas found.
